MotivationMental and behavioral health issues are one of the leading causes of disability and reduced quality of life worldwide, affecting millions of people each year. In fact, about 1 in 6 young individuals in the United States have experienced a major depressive episode, and many go untreated due to stigma and lack of resources.
With the large prevalence of this issue in our modern society, we felt motivated to do our part, and support a group helping to promote mental and behavioral health awareness, while creating an engaging event to connect the community behind this cause. Cincinnati Children's Hospital has seen the positive impacts of mental health initiatives through various community programs, and the ongoing support has improved countless lives. By participating in this event or donating, you can help fund crucial mental health programs and treatments, providing essential resources and support for children in need. Although this is a small step in a much more daunting goal, remember that sometimes even a pawn is enough to change the whole game. So, let's take that step together, and work together to checkmate the pervasive challenges of mental and behavioral health issues. -GCCT Team Sakshum and Manan Vij |
